Community Transport Solihull Project
Three vehicles available for booking by local organisations, either
on a self-drive basis or with a volunteer driver. All vehicles have tail
lift facility and and removable seats to accommodate passengers remaining
in wheelchairs. Please phone for booking arrangements.
Chelmsley Advice and Resource Agency (CARA)
Advise and assistance in claiming welfare benefits, help filling in forms,
debt counselling service and information on employment rights. Cheap(sometimes
free) photocopying. Home visiting for housebound in the North of the
borough.
Citizens Advise Bureau - Chelmsley Wood
Providing free, confidential
and impartial information and advise by voluntary trained advisors
supported by specialists. Advise given on
welfare benefits, employment issues, housing, consumer rights, the
law, family matters. Specialist debt counselling service. Assistance
provided
for filling in forms. Home visits for those with mobility problems.

The Carers Advise Service
Confidential and support service
to people caring for relatives and friends who are elderly, sick or disabled.
A service is available at The Baptist Church, Hedingham Grove, Chelmsley
Wood on Mondays between 10.00am - 12.30pm.

Day Centre
A charity
providing day care and respite for people with Altzeimers Disease or other
forms of dementia.
Clover Avenue Over 60's Club
to bring together the Senior Citizens of Chelmsley Wood Area 7 for companionship
and outings etc.
Cot Death Support Group - Solihull and Birmingham
Support for bereaved
families, by letter, telephone, leaflets and to put parents in touch
with formerly bereaved parents who have been trained
as befrienders. Also fundraising for research and acting as information
source for parents and professionals. Close links with FSID.
