Libraries As Learning Places

Libraries as Learning Places" offer FREE I.T. courses on a self-learn basis. For those without home pcs all Solihull Libraries have I.T. facilities which can be used free of charge.

Learning Difficulties, Support Group for Young Adults
Small group of parents who meet once a month, to share ideas, problems and issues concerning our young adults. We talk to others who understand, invite speakers when needed and take time for ourselves.

Leisure Opprtunities, Solihull (SoLO)
Promotes and supports young people and adults, with learning disabilities, through the provision of interest based clubs, specialist leisure and community based activities throughout the Borough. Summer play-schemes and activities for children with leaning difficulties.

MIND
Variety of information and advise services, drop-in sessions, women's groups, crisis advocacy mornings, general advocacy, welfare and benefits advise, employment and training officer, befriending scheme, organic horticulture scheme in Knowle for voluntary work. Supported housing scheme for 8 tenants.

Mothers &Toddlers - Chelmsley Wood Baptist Church
A safe plce for parents with small children to socialise. Parents can share problems. Children can make friends, play with toys and have space to run.

  NSPCC - Time Out Young People's Centre - Solihull
To provide child protection services to children and families. The centre offers a number of different services, developed over time, and in collaboration with young people and other agencies working with young people. Currently offering: A general advise, advocacy and counseling service for young people aged 9-15 years of age. Young people's advisory group meet weekly and advise on services and issues for young people. Group work with young people being bullied. Anger management. Individual counselling /therapeutic work for young people who have experienced any kind of abuse or difficulty. An advocacy service for young people( 10-17 ), who are in the Solihull Child Protection System. Arts/Garden holiday projects for young people using the scheme. Services are currently available weekdays and some early evenings. They are for any young person who is in troubled and for those who are in, or have been through, the CPS. Young people can refer themselves for an appointment or be referred, as long as they are in agreement and want someone else to make this first contact. Accepts referrals from children and Helpline, but not parents.
