Solihull Victim Support Scheme
Although we are based in Shirley our service is to Victims Of Crime throughout the borough. We are able to provide emotional support and practical advise to victims of crime and also offer a comprehensive service in relation to Criminal Injuries Compensation. Our service is provided by trained volunteers, who can either visit a victim in their own home, or at a suitable local venue. The service is free, confidential and totally non judgemental. We usually take referrals from the Police or other statutory organizations, but we also accept self referrals. We cannot offer financial help.

St Leonard's Day Centre
Day centre activities for single, housebound disabled and lonely senior citizens, age 65+, Lunch and return transport (for a small daily charge). Shopping and day trips organised. Open to residents in the north of the Borough.

Samaritans - Solihull
To help the suicidal and despairing by offering a listening ear and comfort and support. Available at any time of day or night.

SNAP - Special Needs Active Partnership

1. Working with individual parents and carers of children with special needs.

2. Umbrella organisation supporting other charities and groups working in the same field.

3. Partnership with other organisations including statutory bodies, enabling free exchange of ideas and issues.

4. Provision of and support for, leisure opportunities for children and young people with additional needs.

Savings and Credit Union - Chelmsley Wood
A registered Credit Union with two collections on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in Chelmsley Wood. Credit Unions are financial co-operatives owned and run by the members, encouraging thrift through regular savings(however small) and offering low interest loans to members who are regular savers. Members must live in the electoral parish of Chelmsley Wood.

The Friends of Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens
This is an organisation set up to support the Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust in their work in restoring the Walled Gardens at Castle Bromwich Hall, which are open to the public from

Tuesday, 1st. April, 2003.

The Friends support the Gardens Trust in many ways, but mainly by raising funds for their various projects and over the past 16 years the Friends have raised more than £50,000 for the Gardens Trust.
In addition to raising funds for the Trust, The Friends arrange coach outings to other gardens and places of interest, plus organising Car Boot Sales, etc.
