Smith's Wood Youth & Community Centre

This centre runs three nights a week and has a strong sports programme including football, pool and table tennis tournaments. They also run music projects where you can be trained in how to use decks and mixing. It is funded by Smith's Wood Parish Council and is staffed by a member of staff from the Youth ServicesThe staff here will also provide general advice and support.

Kingshurst Youth & Community Centre

This is a youth and community centre with young peoples' clubs as well as being the base for the North & East team. It has taken some time to establish itself but now the clubs are full and the centre is well used.

MC/ Mixing Project - This is a very popular project which takes place throughout the week. It provides the opportunity for young people to learn how to MC/ Mix and use the music studio, where they can create, rehearse and record music.

Arts Project - After a successful street art project at Chapel House, the centre is developing an arts room to provide a space for art work to be placed.

Table Tennis Club - This is a very popular club of young people of varying capabilities who compete both at the centre and at tournaments elsewhere.

Other Projects include; Digital Arts Project exploring art through IT, Karting Trips, Window Displays resulting from the Visual Arts Project, Girls MC / DJ roles and Cooking - looking at culture, budgets and gender Roles.

Castle Bromwich Youth Centre

This centre offers a range of activities for children and young people aged 9 to l9 years. There are open club nights for 9 - 12 and for 13 - 19 year-olds. There is a sports club for 9 - 12 year-olds. Specialist activities for 13 - 19 year-olds include music (MC / mixing), dance, art and design, football, Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

The B@se

The whole ethos of The B@se is "To Promote and encourage the enjoyment of learning".This is based at Kingshurst Youth Centre and it provides an information and advice service to give 1-2-1 support, group issues and specialised group work. Experts come in on a 'Surgery' type basis to help listen and advise on specialist topics. There is also a computer suite, and a homework club is being developed for anyone who needs to use computers or a quiet space to do school work. There is also the opportunity to use the technology to pursue personal interests or hobbies.
