Solihull Youth Council

The youth council has been set up to provide a 'voice' for the young people of Solihull. It creates the opportunity for the ideas and views of young people to be passed on to those in authority about important issues. This is usually achieved through meetings with relevant groups. One of the highlights of the council was a Youth Summit, where young people put questions directly to local Councillors, MP Caroline Spelman and the police. Not only does this ensure that young people are involved and able to get things done, it also gives them a chance to develop communication and negotiating skills
